DO YOU STILL WRESTLE WITH THE DEVIL?

“There’s a story about two monks, one aged and the other a novice, walking together one morning in the monastery. The novice turned to the saintly old monk and asked, ‘Tell me, Father, do you still wrestle with the devil.’

“ ‘Oh, no, my son,’ he answered. ‘I’m much too old and too wise for that! You see, now I wrestle with God.’

“ ‘With God?’ the young novice exclaimed. ‘But Father, how do you hope to win?’

“ ‘Oh, no, no, no, my child,’ said the old monk, ‘I hope to lose.!’”
